Bending Steel examines the mental and physical battle of inspiring old-world strongman Chris Shoeck. Facing a lifetime of addiction and suffering, Shoeck channels this pain into the extraordinary feat of bending steel. In pursuit of a forgotten world, Schoeck lifts himself out of isolation and into the supportive community of performers who push the limits of strength. Exploring the interplay of mind and body, Shoeck's story provides an uplifting story for mental health, addiction and substance abuse organizations. The film is also recommended for University courses specializing in fitness and nutrition.
