Synopsis

In this madcap and lighthearted comedic romp, introverted optometrist Weichung begins to question his marriage with his wife Feng, upon learning of her desire to have another baby. At his sister's engagement party, Weichung bumps into an old friend, Stephen, a wedding photographer who, though also married, is living the high life of a younger, single gay man. When Stephen teases Weichung for his newly straightlaced lifestyle, dormant emotions are awakened in Weichung, setting him off on a quest for true romance and desire.

A simply beautiful movie, very touching, and a fairly unique and human approach to a common-enough story, which unfolds gradually and gracefully, whilst always keeping the viewer's interest. Weichung and Feng, in a loving marriage of nine years, begin to find their marriage slowly unraveling around them as Weichung begins to realize that he's been lying to himself and to her. Meanwhile, his sister is looking to him to be the stable, dependable brother as her own engagement is derailed. Fortunately, mutual understanding and personal growth, as well as ultimately happier situations, are the reigning themes in the lives of everyone involved in this story.

I love the whimsy of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow! The film shows a few cases of people angsting over who they are and what they could be. The main character's homosexuality in a marriage with his wife. His wife's angonizing over keeping her husband, or just let him go and pursue his real life. Also, another woman's mixed perception of love and the western mainstream vision of love, i.e. TV soaps. My only problem with this film is that each of the women of the film has a serious character problem, such as rude and inconsiderate, unrealistic and not down to earth, or even absent-mindedness. In contrast the film's gay characters look to be the perfect specimen of the human species. Even I want to play a round of badminton with them. These guys are fun and not uptight. Go figure! :)
