Nirvan Mullick

Nirvan Mullick is an award winning filmmaker and burgeoning social-entrepreneur whose animated short films have screened in film festivals worldwide, from Cannes to Slamdance, winning numerous awards, including the AFI FEST 2003 Audience Award. Commercially, Nirvan has directed the stop-motion title-sequence for New Line's Willard, developed an original animated series for Nelvana, and has written The Man in the Flying Lawnchair, a live-action feature film being produced by Michael Besman (About Schmidt, Seven Years in Tibet) which he is preparing to direct.

Nirvan began working on THE 1 SECOND FILM in 2000 while studying Experimental Animation at CalArts. The project has since expanded into a non-profit global collaboration produced by thousands of diverse people around the world. Nirvan is currently forming a non-profit foundation to carry out a 5 Phase Plan to expand The 1 Second Film concept into non-profit sequels that will use collaborative art on a global scale to address various critical social-issues.

Niravan completed The Box Man in 2002.  The film was highly acclaimed winning several awards and honors.  It was one of 5 National Finalists for the 2003 Student Academy Awards, but was not available to participate in the final judging due to a print traffic error (a film festival forwarded the Academy a different film...).
