"[A] classically fashioned feel-good feature… Young kids will … eat this up."
– Boyd van Hoeij, The Hollywood Reporter

Synopsis

Orphan girl Heidi spends the happiest days of her childhood together with her eccentric grandfather, cut off from the outside world in a simple cabin in the Swiss mountains. Together with her friend Peter, she tends to her grandfather's goats and enjoys freedom in the mountains to the fullest. But these carefree times come to an abrupt end when Heidi is taken to Frankfurt by her Aunt Dete to stay with the family of the wealthy Mr. Sesemann and be a playmate for his wheelchair-bound daughter Klara. Although the two girls soon become friends and Klara's grandmother awakens a passion for books in Heidi, Heidi's longing for her beloved mountains and her grandfather grows ever stronger.

BELLE AND SEBASTIAN
Directed by Nicolas Vanier
Based on the acclaimed children's novel by Cécile Aubry, BELLE and SEBASTIAN follows the courageous adventures of a young boy and his giant sheepdog amidst the stunning backdrop of the snow-covered Alps. In WWII-occupied France, on the border of Switzerland, six-year-old Sebastian tames the enormous, yet gentle mountain dog Belle, who, despite the fears of the local villagers, becomes his best friend and protector. When the Nazis arrive and begin rooting out resistance members and Jewish refugees, Belle and Sebastian prove their loyalty – the village and each other – when they undertake a treacherous journey to help the cause.
