Australian Writers' Guild
The Australian Writers' Guild (AWG) is the professional association for all performance writers, that is, writers for film, television, radio, theatre, video and new media. The AWG was established in 1962 and is recognised throughout the industry in Australia as being the voice of performance writers.
At the Australian Writers' Guild we promote and protect the interest and standing of writers who originate or adapt written material for performance. We assist members in their negotiations by making use of their collective bargaining power, and assist them in the development of their craft.
The Guild is a member of the International Affiliation of Writers Guilds, comprising: The Writers' Guild of Great Britain, The Writers' Guilds of America (East & West), Writers' Guild of Canada, Societe des Auteurs, Recherchistes, Documentalistes et Compositeurs (Quebec), and the New Zealand Writers Guild.
