British Independent Film Awards (BIFA)

The British Independent Film Awards were created in 1998 by Raindance founder Elliot Grove, to celebrate achievement in independently funded British movies.  Nominations occur each September and the awards occur every November. Previous award winners include Slumdog Millionaire (Best Film), Viggo Mortensen (Best Actor - Eastern Promises), and Judy Dench (Best Actress - Notes on a Scandal).
