Ricardo Darín

Born in Buenos Aires on January 16, 1957, Ricardo Darín is one of the most popular actors in South America. He has worked as an actor since he was a little boy, and has evolved from a star of soap operas  and TV comedies to an excellent leading figure of some of the most important Argentinean movies. He is also a renowned theater actor and director.

His international breakthrough role was in Fabian Bielinsky's 2000 hit film, Nine Queens, followed by El Hijo de la Novia, Kamchatka and El Aura among others. In 2009 he starred in The Dancer and the Thief as well as The Secret in Her Eyes, which were submitted to the Academy Awards® by Spain and Argentina respectively.
