Annette Solakoglu

Annette Solakoglu was born in Sweden in 1968, raised in Germany, and lives in New York's Hudson Valley.

She has written and directed several narrative short films and a music video including Without You (artist: Ben Green), Border, Mary's Melody, Tide, Arrabazzi, and The Piano Has Been Drinking. Her films have been exhibited internationally at festivals, in theaters, on television, and received numerous awards. Her latest short, Border, featuring John Lennon's Imagine, premiered at the 2002 Slamdance Film Featival, won Best Short Film at the 2002 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and received Gold Jury Awards at the Arizona International Film Festival and Worldfest Houston. In April 2003, Border was the winner of the Humanitarian Award at the 27th Cleveland International Film Festival, and was picked up for distribution by FilmMovement.

Annette Solakoglu graduated from the Hochschule der K√ľnste in Berlin, Germany, and received a M.S. degree in Film Production from Boston University, School of Film and Television.
